CDDF Student internship programmes provides community based field training opportunities to both the local and foreign students. Selected students are exposed to continuing education whilst maintaining international standards of excellence in a changing Africa. Over the years, CDDF has pursued a student’s training and internships programme. We partnered the Centre for International Education Exchange (CIEE) and the Social Works Department of the University of Ghana to train students giving them a range of exposures and experiences in community development. Irini Pitta and Sam Mendelson, CDDF student interns from Georgetown University (USA) enrolled at the University of Ghana through Centre for International Education Exchange (CIEE) under the guidance of CDDF President conducted advocacy and built consensus on environmental protection in Niiboiman. As part of their field activities, they engaged the local stakeholders including Women for Africa (an association which promotes gender equality and empowerment for sustainable development) members on regular basis to discuss the best strategies and practices aimed at addressing environmental problems in the community.
